CHIPURI ALE ÎNTOARCERII ÎN OPERA LUI KONSTANTINOS P. KAVAFIS

Our study is dedicated to a theme that has constantly concerned the creative thinking of one of the greatest modern poets of the end of XIX century and the first three decades of the next one: Constantine Cavafy. In Cavafy’s work the theme of return or comeback (gr. nostos) occupies a central place. It’s not about a qualitative dimension but it’s about a significant priority of the messages. Our study develops the following thematic articulations: a) the returning home (to the previous condition); b) the returning as a starting point (the returning as a pretext); c) the returning as an absence (the absence of return); d) the returning as a myth (the mythical returning); e) the returning as an intellectual experience (the imaginary returning); f) the returning as a spiritual experience (the returning as a formative and revelatory act). The presence of the theme of returning in the poetic world of Constantine Cavafy it is a very original constant of his literary and poetic thinking.
