View through CrossRef
The study aimed to assess the extent of participation and level of satisfaction of the volunteers from Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology in street volunteer activities in Zhuhai City. A total of 588 participants participated in the study, including 370 students, 180 teachers, 18 staff members and 20 administrators from the school. The study revealed that the project effectively promoted the participation of schoolteachers and students, improved the practical skills of participants, and strengthened the role of schools in shaping them into becoming socially responsible citizens. However, challenges such as limited flexibility, uneven distribution of responsibilities and inconsistent communication remain significant barriers to maximizing the program’s impact. This study presents the best practices and challenges of volunteering in the streets of Zhuhai. The study recommends an action plan for Zhuhai Street Volunteer Service, including the establishment of scientific and reasonable project design process, expanding the team, improving the quality of service, and ensuring adequate and reasonable allocation of resources, and strengthening community cooperation to ensure that the social benefits of volunteer projects are maximized.
