This chapter looks into the Chicago Loop of the Northeastern Quadrant. It details the design and address of buildings found along the Northeastern Quadrant neighborhood. The Michigan Avenue Bridge Houses are recognised to be where the City of Chicago began, especially when the river crossing becomes a great pedestrian bottleneck of shoppers and tourists. Marshall Field ＆ Company Store holds a complicated history, which results in the building being a good demonstration of the evolution of building foundations in Chicago. The chapter also appreciates the architecture of the Old Republic and Aon Center. It elaborates on the foundation and geological features along buildings like the Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago Athletic Association Annex and Willoughby Tower.
