O artigo empreende uma leitura da obra Dora Bruder, de Patrick Modiano, à luz do conceito de narrativa de filiação, tal como cunhado e descrito por Dominique Viart. Em um primeiro momento, o artigo mobiliza e discute interpretações da obra de Modiano com base na autoficção para, em seguida, enfocar a narrativa de filiação com o intuito de alargar a análise da apropriação da matéria autobiográfica em Modiano, sobretudo no que concerne à obsessiva investigação da ancestralidade do autor. Para tanto, busca-se identificar as características da narrativa de filiação em Dora Bruder e suas implicações nessa obra, com destaque para o espelhamento entre Dora, o narrador e o pai dele.
