Der Wert der Musik: Aushandlungsdynamiken in der digitalisierten Musikwirtschaft

"This article provides a discussion of the intermedia relationship between artists and the disruptions that this relationship faces in the course of digitalization. Against this background, the negotiation dynamics about the “value of music” are analyzed using reader comments on the so-called “anger speech” of the author and element of crime frontman Sven Regener in Bavarian Broadcasting from 2012. It can be seen that the question of the “value of music” is not only addressed in the economic but in the broad sense. In this context, the current “crisis of music” can be explained by the fractures in the relationship between music creators and the market, which take place within a field currently subject to 'centrifugal structural dynamics’."(author’s abstract)
