Monografijoje aptariama kukurūzų kilmė ir auginimo plėtra Lietuvoje. Remiantis ilgamečių tyrimų duomenimis pateikiami skirtingų kukurūzų veislių auginimo ypatumai besikeičiančio klimato sąlymis. Monografijoje taip pat daug dėmesio skiriama kukurūzų tręšimui ir ligų profilaktikai, išsamiai aptariamos jų panaudojimo krytys.
