We are pleased to exclusively present two new Hugh Mendes paintings which represent a new evolution in his work. Mendes is well known for his obituary paintings that have in recent years been based on artist's self portraits. In these works Mendes has introduced obituary paintings of artists inspired by portraits of other artists, specifically Francis Bacon painted by Lucian Freud and Emile Bernard painted by Toulouse Lautrec.
