Ars Celebrandi : Truth and Beauty as Path to Deification

ABSTRACT: The concept of ars celebrandi has gained prominence in recent liturgical conversations. Like any art, the ars celebrandi cannot be simply determined by personal preference and is not merely a matter of external discipline or of added aesthetic elements. Rather, the standard for his art comes from Christ, the leitourgos of the Father, who communicates his truth and beauty through the rites of the Church. Christ the Logos came to establish worship in Spirit and Truth, through which he introduces us into the life of the Trinity. The art of celebrating the liturgy according to the Logos opens a path to divinization which in turns becomes true humanization for those who adhere to the truth and beauty of the liturgy.
