Interior from Carl Larsson’s home in a Christmas mood. Triptych Oil painting on canvas in white painted simple wooden frame.
Motif as described: "Carl Larsson’s painting, Now it’s Christmas again, portrays Christmas celebrations in Dalarna at the beginning of the 19th century.
It is the Christmas breakfast on Christmas Eve 1906 in the Great studio of the family home, Lilla Hyttnäs, in Sundborn that is portrayed.
The Christmas table is ducted and the spruce lit. Carl Larsson himself turns his back on and looks out the window. Among the family members in colorful folk costumes, he has placed the Virgin Mary and the Child Jesus (in front of the cabinet in the middle).
The painting, which was added in 1907, is one of Carl Larsson’s most well-liked works. It was bought by the museum of Helsingborg in 1908 directly by the artist.
"The great painting, rich in detail, shows how the Larssonska Christmas breakfast, which was ingested in the studio in Lilla Hyttnäs, could go to.
The persons are, from left to right: the galley Hilma Sundgren; Kersti Kvarnberg, the wife of the righteous at the Spade heritage, sits on the stove edge; the man in the county chair is Carl Larsson’s father Olof. Alongside him, Karin Larsson, Lilla Brita sits at the wing while Suzanne and Pontus fill their plates on the opposite side of the table. Erik Kvarnberg, the Righteous, is Christmas in honor dressed in Boda costume. The girl in the empty red dress is Kersti. The cooker Anna Arnbom in the Sundborn costume is heading out into the kitchen to pick up more beer. Brita Kvarnberg, whose spine we see, also carries the Boda costume. The little goose with a sandwich in his hand, completely engulfed by the shimmering candles in the fir, is the son Esjörn, six years old. Behind him is Martina, the auxiliary, then Augusta who was Olof Larsson’s housekeeper. The review obscures Johan who was the former rightsman of Spadarvet. "from Käre Calle Larsson - The Letters, the Prince and the Famous Works, Prince Eugens Waldemarsudde, 2009 p. 267
