This chapter looks at Michael Powell’s mastery of film making and analyses what makes Peeping Tom so different from contemporary Horror in terms of its setting, themes and technical style. While some scenes were filmed on sets a large number were shot on location (in streets still recognisable today) and Peeping Tom captures aspects of early 60s London and British society that many people would have been uncomfortable seeing exposed.
