AbstractThis chapter examines the background to automotive glazing and discusses how glazing systems within cars have become more sophisticated over time to afford a number of engineering opportunities. It also investigates the research that has been carried out into alternatives to glass and why they may not have been as successful as they were lauded. Finally, it discusses some of the more common technical issues that need to be considered when designing and engineering glazing systems.
