View through CrossRef
The purpose of this study is to outline the specifics of crisis communications of trade union public organizations in the conditions of war based on the communication activities of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. We took a period of 100 days before the beginning of the Russian invasion and 100 days after and examined the anti-crisis communications and technologies used by Ukrainian trade unions during this period. The subject of the study was the communication activity of trade unions on the official Internet resource of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. The main research method was content analysis and the method of data systematization. Also, we applied the method of data visualization, comparative, analytical-synthetic and factorial methods for the analysis of sources and comparison of data. The study proved that Ukrainian trade unions quickly optimized their resources and directed them to combat the crisis, new anti-crisis communication technologies were used in the information activities of trade union public organizations. Transformations in the topic of publications, the genre palette of publications, the use of new types of content prove that trade unions changed the vector of their communication activity and began to produce new, previously unused communication content. It was also found that there was a strengthening in terms of communication. Those trade unions, about which many materials were previously published, could not use their communication resources due to the crisis period, but they were replaced by colleagues from other regions, which is a positive practice of anti-crisis communication activities of Ukrainian Trade Unions. The value of the research lies in the fact that, for the first time, we investigated the reaction of Ukrainian Trade Unions to the beginning of the war, which becomes a necessary step for the development of scientific, practical and strategic approaches to the management of crisis situations in the conditions of war.
