Abstract
Born in 1953 in Haiti, Raoul Peck is today a renowned and respected filmmaker and film teacher. His filming choices are strongly influenced by his political commitment and his Haitian experience. With the passing of time, he has developed an inimitable style which mixes fiction and authentic documents. The recurring themes in his films include friendship, betrayal, and faithfulness to one's idea until death. He has received several awards and he is dedicated to the promotion of the Cinema of the South.
