Abstract
The Revd James Lyne B. James was the grandson of Eliza James, née Hancock, whose photograph appears as Fig. 16.13. the three ladies in Figs 14.1–14.3 were his great aunts. As we saw in the previous chapter, the two eldest sisters, Maria (1816–1902) and Frances (Fanny)(1818–95) inherited the lease to Marlborough Cottage in Thomasߣ will and lived there as spinsters until their deaths in 1902 and 1895 respectively.
