La formazione delle parole (FP), che per lungo tempo è stata Ia Cenerentola della grammatica (e non soltanto italiana), è un dominio che concerne tutti i livelli di descriiione linguistica ed è nel contempo anche il banco di prova delle teorie linguistiche dal tradizionalismo alia grammatica generativo-trasformazionale (GT) post chomskyana. Nell'ambito delle recenti teorie GT si situa anche lo studio del romani sta austriaco Franz Rainer, docente all'Università di Salisburgo e autore di diversi studi (sull'intensificazione in italiano, sulla formazione delle parole ed altri ancora). Lo studio Citato nel titolo è oggetto della presente recensione.
