Celem niniejszego artykułu jest próba literaturoznawczego i historycznego przedstawienia sytuacji społeczności żydowskiej zamieszkującej Pragę w okresie II wojny światowej. Przedmiotem badania stał się utwór prozatorski Ladislava Fuksa Pan Teodor Munstock. Autor wpisywał się w tematykę poświęconą prozie strachu i zagrożenia w literaturze czeskiej lat 60. XX wieku. Przedstawiał obraz społeczności żydowskiej znajdującej się pod wpływem totalitaryzmu. Za sprawą tytułowego bohatera przybliżał czytelnikowi stan psychiczny zbiorowości żydowskiej we wspomnianym okresie.
