Eksistensi Lagu Moresco Sebagai Cikal Bakal Musik Keroncong Di Indonesia

One of the music genres in Indonesia is Keroncong music which is the development of Moresco’s song originating from the Portuguese. But in the passage of time, Moresco’s song did not exist anymore in Portuguese. This research describes the reason for the Keroncong music in Indonesia, but it is faded in its native Portuguese country. The Moresco’s song was sung by the Moors and Fodo in Batavia in the 16th century. In its game the tools used include guitar, violin, cello. The method performed in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with the study of literature. The results of this study will produce about any factor affecting the existence of Keroncong in Indonesia. In addition the result of this research resulted in the reasons why the Portuguese do not preserve the song with the keroncong genre even Keroncong is now more recognized as a genre from Indonesia. The benefits of this research can be used as literacy for people who want to know why the Keroncong genre existence especially the Moresco’s song does not exist in Portuguese and also as the forerunner of Keroncong Music in Indonesia.
