Lisiewska, Friederike Julie (Vorlage): Porträt Johann Friedrich Zöllner

Johann Friedrich Zöllner (1753-1804) was pastor at the Church of Mary and from 1788 provost at the Church of St. Nicholas in Berlin. The artist had presented the painting in 1793 as one of four important and respected at the Berlin Academy Exhibition, perhaps her teacher Christian Bernhard Rode (1725-1799) sent her the portrait order of this well-known personality from the Berlin Enlightenment District (Cat. Schwerin 2017, p. 35f.). It shows the theologian in Pastor’s Ornaate with a semicircle. In 1929 the portrait of the Berlin theologian Johann Friedrich Zöllner was still owned by the Church of Mary in Berlin. Medallion image to the left with monumental enclosure, including name board.
Purchased from May, Berlin, 1912 for the Märkische Museum.
