Fukuyama Amine Synthesis

View through CrossRef
Abstract The two‐step conversion of primary amines into secondary amines via ortho ‐nitrobenzenesulfonation in conjunction with the Mitsunobu reaction and subsequent removal of the o ‐nitrobenzenesulfonyl group by thiophenol is generally known as the Fukuyama amine synthesis. This reaction has been modified by using DIAD to improve the alkylation efficiency. This reaction has been found to be versatile method for the synthesis of secondary amines, polyamines, and even tertiary amines via the solid‐supported synthesis.
