FIGURE. Grave finds. A woman of service, hollow and made in shape, with her hair in a loud knot, wearing a long-sleeved footside suit and a shawl. The head and neck are unglazed and the glazes are fluted and finely cracked. Remains of black paint on eyebrows and hair. The estate is bright gray-yellow with remains of clay. Purchased 1912 at the Stock Company Bukowskis Konsthandel.Pris.114 Kr. These two ladies B.a.a.04 and B.a.a.05 were originally part of a large group of servants who probably followed their ruler into life after this. The fashion of the Tang Dynasty changed rapidly and capes with high waists and long shawls were the ones in force in the early 700s, as well as hairstyles with ornate asymmetric knots. The ladies have similarities with old burial paintings, such as those in Prince Li Xian’s tomb near Xi 'an, dated to the year 706.
