Gold-copper (tumbago) pendant in anthropomorphic form. The human figure has a rattle in his right hand and a long flute in his left. He is wearing large spiral earrings, a twisted band around the head and bands around hips, knees and ankles. At the back of the neck there is a ring for the carrying cord.The pendant is a grave gift. Intentional damage is done when the deceased is interred, so that the soul or spirit of the figurine accompanies him or her into the afterlife (Emmerich, 1965:109).\In America, a belief in the afterlife was widespread.
