Features of the Use of Adjectives Tvorchyi and Kreatyvnyi in Pedagogical Terminology

The article analyzes the specifics of the use of the Ukrainian words творчий, творчість, творчо and their foreign language equivalents креативний, креативність, креативно in pedagogical terminology. Using various lexicographic sources, the semantic features of these terms were clarified and it was proven that Anglicisms with the root креатив- do not name new concepts, but only duplicate one of the meanings of polysemous Ukrainian words. The frequency of use of Ukrainian and foreign words was traced using the material from the “State Standard of Basic Secondary Education” (2020). The document significantly predominates over the Ukrainian terms творчий, творчість, творчо, because they have a long tradition of use, and therefore are more appropriate in the speech of teachers. In addition, educational and methodological materials of teachers posted on online platforms, websites, etc. were analyzed. It has been proven that Anglicisms with the root креатив- can exist in oral speech, giving the expression greater expressiveness and emotionality, but they should be avoided in printed texts of a scientific style.
