Iconography
Royal masks are large and hollowed with crowns in several tiers, in the case of kings in more than three tiers. This headdress is unpainted with carved details. It contains a pinnacle and a second tier in the shape of a belvedere called pattirippuva (Sin.), with spires in an open work, suggestive of the windows in a royal palace.
