Herberto Helder e as naturezas-mortas / Herberto Helder and the Still Lifes

Resumo: Este artigo explora algumas das relações que a literatura de Herberto Helder estabelece (ou permite estabelecer) com outras artes e mídias, adotando desta forma as intermidialidades como perspectiva metodológica favorável à interrogação de temas que estruturam toda a escrita do poeta, como o do tempo, o da imagem e o da morte. Para isso, toma-se como ponto de partida a ideia de natureza-morta, tal como ela aparece (ou como ela se permite pensar) na pintura, no cinema e no vídeo – artes ou mídias com as quais a poesia de Herberto Helder mantém relações importantes. Em abordagem intermidial, portanto, o artigo propõe articulações entre concepções distintas da imagem, diferentes regimes do tempo e perspectivas diversas sobre a morte, apreensíveis no cruzamento entre reflexões sobre a poesia de Herberto Helder em particular e sobre as artes em geral. Procura-se assim reconhecer elos entre os olhares que certa literatura e alguma arte lançam sobre o tema da morte, por um lado, e as concepções do tempo e regimes da imagem que apontam, por outro. O que significa ainda que se pretende apresentar, reciprocamente, relações entre modos como poesia e arte entendem o tempo e a imagem e aquilo que afirmam sobre a morte – em Herberto Helder e não só.Palavras-chave: Herberto Helder; intermidialidades; tempo; imagem; morte.Abstract: This article explores some of the relations that Herberto Helder’s literature establishes (or allow us to establish) with other arts and media, thus adopting intermedialiaties as a methodological perspective that favours the interrogation of themes that are structural for the poet’s writing as a whole, such as time, image and death. In order to do so, the idea of still life is taken as a departing point, as it appears (or as it allows itself to be reflected upon) in painting, cinema and video – arts or media with which Herberto Helder’s poetry maintains important interaction. In an intermedial approach, thus, the article proposes links between different conceptions of the image, diverse regimes of time and various perspectives on death, grasped in the crossing of reflections on Herberto Helder’s poetry in particular and on arts in general. We thus attempt to recognize links between the looks that some literature and some art cast on the subject of death, on the one hand, and the conceptions of time and regimes of the image that they point to, on the other. This also means that we intend to present, reciprocally, relations between the ways in which poetry and art understand time and image and what they claim about death – in Herberto Helder and beyond.Keywords: Herberto Helder; intermedialities; time; image; death.
