L’Affaire Audin, paru le 12 mai 1958, est le premier livre écrit par Pierre Vidal-Naquet. Je cherche dans cette « brochure » les indices de la démarche de l’historien. En utilisant comme source principale la correspondance entre Josette Audin et Pierre Vidal-Naquet de septembre 1957 à juin 1958, un point important apparaît : la valeur à accorder au témoignage. Il semble en effet que progressivement le récit de l’historien ait pris la place du témoignage rédigé par Josette Audin. « Faire la lumière, établir la vérité » est déjà au cœur de la construction historique telle que Pierre Vidal-Naquet la conçoit.
