Heydar Aliyev and investment policy in Azerbaijan

After regaining its state independence, one of the top priority of Azerbaijan was the determination and implementation of the country's investment policy based on national interests. In order to get the country out of its difficult situation, it was necessary to form an efficient and pragmatic investment policy. National Leader Heydar Aliyev initially renewed the goals of Azerbaijan's investment policy and led the reconstruction of the country according to its strategic interests. First of all, practical changes were made considering the current realities and aimed at protecting the interests of the country by working to eliminate the tense in Azerbaijan state budget as a result of gross mistakes made during the previous government in the field of investment policy formation. The Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who prioritized the expansion of relations with international financial and credit organi-zations, accepted their participation in the projects implemented in the country as the main condition for the successful outcome of the economic reforms leading in the country. From this point of view, decisions on attracting foreign investments to the country were considered as one of the main factors leading to economic development at that time.
