In Conversation with Takayuki Ueda, INPEX Corporation
View through CrossRef
Australian Energy Producers are delighted to present INPEX Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Takayuki Ueda to discuss the energy trilemma and Australia’s vital contribution to regional energy security and global net zero progress. Faciliated by Ms Laura Jayes.
Mr Ueda is responsible for overseeing INPEX’s global energy portfolio, including the $A 60-billion Ichthys LNG development. INPEX’s share in Ichthys LNG represents the largest ever overseas investment by a Japanese company and the biggest single Japanese investment in Australia.
As the CEO of Japan’s flagship E&P company and a former Japanese government official, Mr Ueda is uniquely placed to provide expert views on energy security, global LNG demand and the opportunities for decarbonisation, through carbon capture and storage.
While the industry has faced policy uncertainty in the last 12 months, Mr Ueda will point to the opportunities and challenges that exist to enable long-term Australian natural gas production, given its essential role in the energy mix well past 2050.
With unrest in the Middle East and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine having no sign of end, what will this mean for Australia and global LNG supply chains? Join us at the 2024 Australian Energy Producers Conference and Exhibition on 20-23 May in Perth for an engaging discussion with Mr Ueda from the perspective of one of our nation’s most important trade partners and crucial strategic ally.
The in-conversation with Mr Ueda will also explore INPEX’s plans and opportunities for its Australian operations, including carbon capture and storage and the company’s Vision@2022 decarbonisation and energy roadmap.
