Against the backdrop of deepening integration between economic globalisation and educational internationalisation, private higher education institutions in Guangdong have actively pursued internationalisation pathways through collaborative programmes, curriculum internationalisation, and transnational mobility of staff and students. They have emerged as significant contributors to regional higher education internationalisation. This paper examines the primary models and specific manifestations of internationalisation in private higher education institutions. It conducts an in-depth analysis of core challenges faced by these institutions, including resource constraints, faculty shortcomings, participation imbalances, and inadequate quality assurance mechanisms.
