Borrowing from the legacy of brutalism

View through CrossRef
My work uses diverse materials and forms to convey a soft, inviting set of furniture that borrows from the canon of modern and brutalist furniture design. The interplay of these forms gives the illusion of lightness and softness despite the use of materials that are quite heavy and rigid. I wanted to create paradoxical relationships between my pieces that result in complementary interactions and invite users into their space.
