Broad, disc shaped rim, sloping inwards; narrow neck; thick lug handle; ovoid body; rounded base with flattened bottom; depressed ring around centre of bottom. Hard, buff clay; lustrous, buff slip; lustrous, black and matt, purple paint; incisions. Tongues on disc; dots on rim edge; tongues around neck; on handle vertical stroke flanked by two shorter ones; two lines above figured frieze, and one below it; frieze: two cocks, one on either side of double lotus; filling ornaments: large rosette, smaller, cross-incised rosettes, dots and blobs, unincised dots; bottom: tongues around depressed painted ring; dot in bottom centre.
