Els temes tractats són: la programació bàsica amb CN fent servir la codificació ISO de CN; els cicles fixos; les possibilitats de la programació quant a salts de programa, bucles, subprogrames i subrutines; els sistemes de programació referents a la programació de contorns, a la programació assistida interactiva i a la programació amb sistemes CAM; i es presenten exemples de programació referents a la mecanització de peces en un torn i a la mecanització de peces en un centre de mecanització.
