Me 14 shkurt 2015, pas një sëmundje të gjatë e të rëndë në Prishtinë u shua Prof.dr.Tahir Abdyli, historiani i mirënjohur shqiptar dhe drejtori shumë vjeçar i Institutit të Historisë në Prishtinë. Tahir Abdyli u lindi me 5. II. 1942 në fshatin Kerrninë të Istogut. Shkollën fillore e kreu në Rakosh, ndërsa të mesmen në Pejë. Në vitin 1969 diplomoi në Fakultetin Filozofik- Dega e Historisë në Prishtinës. Studimet e shkallës së tretë i mbaroi në Fakultetin Filozofik të Prishtinës, ku dhe mbrojti me sukses temën e magjistraturës: “Lëvizja Kombëtare Shqiptare 1900-1903”. Doktoroi me temën Zhvillimi i industrisë në Kosovë, në vitin 1978, në Fakultetin Filozofik të Universitetit të Kosovës në Prishtinë.
