Tartar copper alloy figure

This is one of several drawings of base metal or copper alloy Tartar figures of household gods (the others are Eastern Antiquities 10.1, 10.2, 11.2, 12.1, and 12.2). Their form is half human and half scaly monster, with claw feet. They were kept in the tents of the nomadic Calmuc Tartar tribesmen. They were excavated from tumuli in Siberia.
