Bolivia and BRICS: Interests, Opportunities, Complications
View through CrossRef
BRICS is currently undergoing an expansion process, and Bolivia has expressed its desire to join it. The article analyzes the interests of this actor to take part in the association, taking into account the peculiarities of both Bolivia's foreign policy at the present stage and the global role of BRICS itself. The work is based on multifactor analysis, research of official documents and political rhetoric. The author comes to the conclusion that, while the Movement Towards Socialism party is still in power, Bolivia will increase ties with BRICS, since this vector is determined not only by the prestigious, but also by the vital interests of the nation, but in the longer term there is a whole set of obstacles to deeper cooperation with BRICS.
