ARKAİKTEN MODERNE MİLLİ BELLEK VE İSİMLER

Since the early periods of history, human beings have been trying to make the world more livable for themselves. This effort also includes trying to classify the millions of living and non-living things around him. The stage that comes after classification is the naming processes carried out in order to distinguish the classified entities from similar ones more easily. In a way, naming is a transition from chaos (mess) to cosmos (order) for archaic humans. Naming and naming-related processes have evolved over time into rituals that also include aesthetic concerns, out of an effort to make the world more livable. The concept of national memory, which emerged as a result of humanity's encounter with the concept of nation, shapes many social processes. One of these processes is the naming processes that are the subject of the study. In this study, determinations regarding the religious, mythological, sociological foundations and ritualistic dimensions of the naming examples that have been seen among the Turks since the early periods of history will be included, also touching on their relationship with the concept of national memory.
