Der Bloch-Almanach dokumentiert die Verleihung des Ernst-Bloch-Preises 2018 an Achille Mbembe und des Ernst-Bloch-Förderpreises an Maximilian Probst. Ihre Dankesreden plädieren zum einen für ein universales Recht auf Gastfreundschaft (Mbembe), zum anderen für eine ökologische Bildung (Probst). Die zweite Sektion macht bisher unveröffentlichte Briefe von Ernst Bloch an den Kunsthändler und Verleger Walter Feilchenfeldt zugänglich und eröffnet damit aufschlussreiche Einblicke in Blochs Lebenssituation im amerikanischen Exil. Der dritte Teil des Bandes ist der Besprechung von Neuerscheinungen der Bloch-Forschung vorbehalten.
