Women in Rock Memoirs

Abstract
This volume presents a collection of essays on memoirs written by women in rock from 2010 onward. Scholars from different research areas and countries address the study of this topic with the common goal of exploring how these memoirs narrate the experiences of life and the difficulties that they had to overcome, not only as artists but as women. Thus, this collection of essays is a valuable contribution to the vindication of the role of women in rock music, as well as a worthwhile document to explore the dynamics of the memoir as a genre. By including in the analysis memoirs written by well-known artists, but also those about less well-known ones and artists outside the Anglo-American frame, this book is intended to bring more understanding of the similarities and differences between the women in rock and the choices they have made when writing their books.
