Suit consisting of a jacket and trousers of printed cotton velvet, fabric made by Hexter, United States, suit designed by Mr Fish, London, ca. 1968. Man's suit consisting of a jacket and trousers made of striped voided cotton velvet corduroy. The coloured stripes are printed in green, orange, red and yellow which are overprinted to get brown and beige well as darker reds and greens giving a rainbow effect to the colours. Jacket is double breasted with six buttons and the option of eight. The buttons are spaced widely apart at the breast and placed closer together towards the waist and hip. It is slightly waisted with a waist seam and two hip pockets with flaps. The shoulders are square and slightly padded. The revers are 5.5 inch wide and each one has a buttonhole. The sleeves are tight with artificial cuffs turned back and stitched to a point. The back has two vents. The jacket is lined throughout with plain maroon coloured silk including the inside tops and flaps of the pockets. The pocket bags are of white cotton and the right hand pocket is divided into two one being smaller than the other. There are two inside breast pockets and an inside breast button. Trousers are hipsters cut straight to fit tightly. The bottoms are without turn ups and are cut with raised fronts and low backs to fit closely over the instep. There is a front and a back seam to each leg. The front fastening is by a six inch silver metal zip (Lightening) with an additional fastening of a button and a shaped flap on the inside. There are seven three inch belt holders and there is no waist band. The trousers are lined throughout in plain white silk except for the inside front fastening lined with white cotton. The inside waistband is of white possibly twilled silk with a very thin interlining of possibly coarse woven mull. This is caught at the CB sides and front only. Printed cotton velvet, lined with silk, metal, padded.
