Michael Gordon and the Traditions of American Experimental Music

В статье рассматривается вопрос преемственности традиций американской экспериментальной музыки в творчестве современного композитора-постминималиста Майкла Гордона (1956). На основе анализа нотного текста, изучения документальных источников (авторские комментарии к сочинениям, интервью, мемуары классиков минимализма С. Райха, Ф. Гласса), а также трудов ведущих отечественных и зарубежных исследователей современного искусства Америки (О. Манулкина, К. Гэнн) автор выявляет характерные черты стиля Гордона как наследника вековой национальной культуры мавериков.
The article examines the issue of the continuity of the traditions of American experimental music in the work of the modern postminimalist composer Michael Gordon (1956). Based on the analysis of musical text, the study of documentary sources (author’s comments on essays, interviews, memoirs of the minimalist classics S. Reich, F. Glass), as well as the works of leading researchers of contemporary art in the USA (O. Manulkina, K. Gann) author reveals the characteristic features of Gordon’s style as the heir to the ageold national culture of the mavericks.
