Monoterpenol glycosides in plants and their biotechnological transformation
View through CrossRef
AbstractThe present paper reviews the different monoterpenols and monoterpene polyols identified in the glycoside form in the plant kingdom. The glycosidic moieties involved are also considered. The natural pathways for the synthesis and hydrolysis of these monoterpene glycosides and the different hypothesis concerning their metabolism are discussed. The present state of different projects for the biotechnological transformation of these aromatic precursor compounds is reported.
