This article compares the concept of the scouting lifestyle with the idea of lifelong learning. It delves into the principles of scouting education, highlighting the distinction between scouting as such and the Polish scout movement, which stems from the latter’s involvement in the fight for independence. The tenets of lifelong learning within the Polish scout movement are explored with regard to the model of learning through action. This unique approach, marked by positive mutual interaction, clarity of goals, voluntary affiliation, individuality, authenticity, and indirectness, is defined as the Polish scout movement's educational method. The article details various elements such as the subject and object of learning, the objectives, means, forms of scout work, and the conditions for lifelong learning within the scout movement. The results of such an education manifest as the proficiency badges earned by scouts, as well as scout and instructor ranks. In addition, attention was paid to lifelong learning focused on knowledge, skills, and attitudes relating to scouting as well as specialised competencies in various areas of human activity. A vision of the an innovative individual is described – an individual who embodies the spirit of lifelong learning. The reflections presented, are based on an analysis of comprehensive human development approach in selected Polish scouting organisations that form the “Forum on Education”. It is essential to note that despite their differences, all scout organisations operate in accordance with the principles of education and child development of the Polish scouting movement, which was introduced over a century ago over a century ago.
