В статье, основанной на анализе трактата Уильяма Оккама «Восемь вопросов о папской власти» (Octo quaestiones de potestate pape) — оригинального памятника политической мысли первой половины XIV века, исследуются представления мыслителя о церковной власти, ее миссии и пределах, а также соотношение закона, рабства и свободы как ключевых категорий, определяющих в свете христианского учения и аристотелевской традиции характер папской власти.
