R. Mundlak: The Learnedan.

View through Europeana Collections
A pair of identical copies from the same postcard, containing a print from a learning Jewish portrait by the Polish-Jewish painter Regina Mundlak (1887-1942). The postcard was printed with the name of the artist and the name of the work in Hebrew and French, as well as a number. According to this number, it was produced within the second series of postcards published by "Lebanon", Moscow, at the end of the first decade of the twentieth century. The company's name and trademark were printed on the back of the postcards. The divided postcards, printed in a sepia-brown hue, are later than the undisclosed ones, in black and white, and were probably printed on the eve of World War I. These postcards were not used and were removed from the collection of "Lebanon" postcards donated to the National Library in 1939 by the publisher's editor-in-chief, Mr. Benjamin Mintz, Warsaw.
