The research of pharmaceutical value chain – Diep Ha Chau (Phyllanthus Amarus)
View through CrossRef
Pharmaceutical has been an important industry which would earn much profit for our country in the future. However, the relationships and links between each part of Vietnamese pharmaceutical are not clearly identified. This research, which is done in Phu Yen, finds out and calculates the value chain of Diep Ha Chau (Phyllanthus) – a typical medicinal plant in the National list. Research’s analysis method is based on the method of Eschborn GTZ (2007), Raphael Kaplinsky and Mike Morris (2000), and M4P program (2007). The results include a complete value chain of Diep Ha Chau (Phyllanthus), from participants, relationships, and links between them to how well the information flows and the final is profit percentage that each participant earns. Besides, research also states some possible solutions to improve the operation of Diep Ha Chau (Phyllanthus) value chain, which are focusing on R&D and industrializing pharmaceutical cultivation in Vietnam. Moreover, this research hoped to be the foundation for further studies on similar topics such as improving economic efficiency for low value or low earning part in Diep Ha Chau’s (Phyllanthus’s) value chain.
