По литературным данным, приведённая концепция идеи заключалась в том, что функциональная окклюзия является определяющим фактором, обеспечивающим стабильный результат ортодонтического лечения аномалий прикуса. Основная же цель диагностики, составления плана, а также самого лечения, по мнению авторов должна быть основана на критериях оценки эстетики лица и эстетики зубных рядов, функциональной окклюзии и состояния височно-нижнечелюстного сустава, а также здоровья периодонта.
