Pesan Moral Persahabatan dalam Film Top Gun Maverick

Abstract. The film Top Gun Maverick is a continuation of the film Top Gun which was released in 1986. Top Gun is an action film directed by Tony Scott and released in 1986, with Tom Cruise in the main role. Film, in this context, can be considered as a moving image representation. Top Gun Maverick tells the story of young pilots who are trained by the character Maverick to destroy the enemy's nuclear arsenal. In this film there are special training scenes for pilots to be braver and able to carry out missions correctly. The aim of this research is to identify the moral message about friendship contained in the film entitled Top Gun Maverick. This research adopts Roland Barthes' semiotic approach, namely denotation, connotation and myth. Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method was used in this research to help researchers observe several scenes in the film Top Gun Maverick using a qualitative approach. The results of this research show that there is a connotation of the moral message of friendship shown through scenes of Rooster, Maverick, and other characters in the film Top Gun Maverick. There is also a denotational meaning of the moral message of friendship in the film Top Gun Maverick, as found in the airplane flight cooperation scene. Lastly, there is the moral myth of friendship that friendship cannot be separated even though the characters in the film experience great pressure in battle. Abstrak. Film Top Gun Maverick merupakan kelanjutan dari film Top Gun yang dirilis pada tahun 1986. Top Gun adalah sebuah film aksi yang disutradarai oleh Tony Scott dan dirilis pada tahun 1986, dengan Tom Cruise sebagai pemeran utama. Film, dalam konteks ini, dapat dianggap sebagai suatu representasi gambar bergerak. Top Gun Maverick menceritakan mengenai pilot-pilot muda yang dilatih oleh tokoh Maverick untuk menghancurkan persenjataan nuklir musuh. dalam film ini terdapat adegan pelatihan khusus untuk para pilot agar lebih berani dan dapat menjalankan misi dengan benar. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi pesan moral tentang persahabatan yang terkandung dalam film berjudul Top Gun Maverick. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes, yakni denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk membantu peneliti mengamati beberapa adegan dalam film Top Gun Maverick dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya makna konotasi pesan moral persahabatan yang diperlihatkan melalui adegan Rooster, Maverick, dan tokoh-tokoh lainnya ketika berada di camp pelatihan. dalam film Top Gun Maverick. Terdapat pula makna denotasi pesan moral persahabatan dalam film Top Gun Maverick seperti yang terdapat pada adegan kerjasama penerbangan pesawat. Yang terakhir, adanya mitos moral persahabatan bahwa persahabatan tidak terpisahkan meski tokoh- tokoh dalam film mengalami tekanan besar dalam pertempuran.
