Abstract
Physics for Clinical Oncology is an essential text that teaches the clinically important physics of radiotherapy. Knowledge and understanding of the physics that underpins radiotherapy is essential for optimum practice. Updated for a second edition, capturing the developments of the last decade, the book begins with basic concepts and principles of physics, then bridges and relates these to the practices in all aspects of radiotherapy. Chapters cover X-ray production and photon therapy physics, charged particle physics, IT in radiotherapy, dosimetry, the role of imaging in planning and delivery, radiotherapy equipment, the physics of radiotherapy planning, brachytherapy, and molecular therapy. Radiation protection and quality in radiotherapy is also covered. The work is mapped against the Royal College of Radiologists Clinical Oncology curriculum but designed for all radiation oncology clinicians and the whole radiotherapy team.
