PERIDINIUM PENARDII (LEMM.) LEMM. FO. CALIFORNICUM, FORMA NOVA1

View through CrossRef
SUMMARYA new forma of Peridinium penardii (Lemm.) Lemm. (Dinophyceae) is described from Clear Lake, California, based upon the morphology of a theca. The forma californicum Javorn. is believed to be a connecting link between P. penardii and P. berolinense Lemm. A nomenclatural survey of the species, as well as a key to its formae, are given.
