Analysis of the Emission of Pollutants into the Air from Nikola Tesla A and Nikola Tesla B Thermal Power Plants

View through CrossRef
The paper presents a temporal analysis of the emission of pollutants into the air on the example of the two largest thermal power plants "Nikola Tesla A" and "Nikola Tesla B". The "Thermoelectric Power Plant Nikola Tesla" branch is the largest producer of electricity in Southeast Europe. There are 14 units with a total installed capacity of 3,430 MW. Within the branch of the "Nikola Tesla Thermal Power Plants", there are two constituent entities: the „Nikola Tesla A“ Thermal Power Plant, comprising six blocks with a total projected capacity of 1650 MW, and the „Nikola Tesla B“ Thermal Power Plant, featuring two blocks with a combined electrical capacity of 1,340 MW. Within the "Thermoelectric Power Plant Nikola Tesla A" there are blocks A1 with 660 MW, A2 with 660 MW, A3 with 932 MW, A4 with 943 MW, A5 with 934 MW and block A6 with 934 MW of thermal power, while within the "Thermoelectric Power Plant Nikola Tesla B" has two blocks B1 and B2 with 1809 MW and 1826 MW of thermal power each. The emission trend is shown for three pollutants, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter for 2022, 2021 and 2020. Flue gases containing pollutants are released into the air through chimneys 150 meters high (blocks A1, A2 and A3) and 220 meters (blocks A4, A5 and A6) at "Thermoelectric Power Plant Nikola Tesla A" and 280 meters high (blocks B1 and B2) at "Nikola Tesla B Thermal Power Plant". In accordance with legal requirements, continuous measurements are performed regularly, while periodic measurements are performed to check the correctness of continuous measurements.

Title: Analysis of the Emission of Pollutants into the Air from Nikola Tesla A and Nikola Tesla B Thermal Power Plants
