An Archive for Vatican II

View through CrossRef
Abstract This chapter traces the work of bringing together and ordering the archival materials relating to the Second Vatican Council—including the conciliar commission—in the recently renamed Vatican Apostolic Archive (formerly the Vatican Secret Archive). The collection is open today for the work of scholars investigating the deliberations of the council fathers and the elaboration of the various conciliar texts. It includes many of the personal papers of leading protagonists of the council, such as the general secretary, Pericle Felici, and recordings from Vatican Radio. Finally, the chapter draws attention to other important archival collections available to scholars in other major research centres.
